Birthday Weekend

This weekend was so fun celebrating Cami's 4th birthday. On Friday she invited all her friends over for a "Love" themed birthday party. They played things such as heart bingo, mailman mailman, pin the fairy on the heart, made heart shaped pizzas, and got a mail bucket for a prize with their name on it. On Saturday night we went and seen grandma Kris and took the girls out for dinner and ice cream afterwards (thanks Kris). Afterwards Sierra stayed up really late and decorated the house for her special day. It's become a tradition for Sierrra to do that and we all love it!
On Sunday we celebrated with cake and ice cream and opened her presents. We all had a great time and she loved all her gifts. It's hard to believe that 4 years have passed since our little ball of sunshine has came into our lives. Cami brings so much happiness and love to our home. She definitely can be a spitfire but I've never met a little girl that is as happy as she is!

Into Everything

Anothony has officially reached the age where he is into anything and everything. From cupboards, drawers, gadgets, even the toilet and garbage if I don't watch him close enough! He loves to explore his surroundings. We have to be careful and shut the doors when we walk into a room with him or he makes a beeline for the door. It's so funny to watch him go because he used to be so cautious but now when the opportunity presents itself he crawls faster than you can imagine to get to the door before we notice. When I took this picture he was doing one of his favorite things- emptying the movies out of the entertainment center when the kids leave the door open. He turned around and looked so guilty that I had to snap his picture. So cute!

Playing Dress Up

Cami was playing with her friend Kyler when she came down and said "Look mom we got dressed up!". The look on her friend's face says it all! Cami loves playing dress up but that day I'm sure her friend Kyler was wishing that she didn't.

Family Fun Day

Yesterday we went to the swimming pool and went "camping" in our living room. It was so much fun and the kids had a blast playing at the pool.
Chance talked Alex into going down the slide with him but when he got off he  said "Mom I don't think I like going down the slide very much!". What a contrast to Cami who ran to the slide as soon as we walked into the room and almost cried when she wasn't big enough to go down. Poor Alex being the protective brother that he is ran after her screaming "No Cami you'll get hurt, don't go down the slide by yourself!". While he ran after he he slipped and fell. What a good big brother though.
We have been missing the warm weather and are all dying to go camping so we camped out in our living room. The kids were so tired from swimming that they could barely stay awake but we had a great time. Hopefully when the weather warms up we will be able to go camping up the canyon soon.

Cooped Up

We are soooo excited for spring to come!! All this snow is making me and the younger kids stir crazy. We want to ride bikes, go to the park, and feel the sun on our face. I am running out of things to entertain the kids and they are bored with all my tricks. It seems like the more we are indoors the more Cami treats Anthony like one of her dolls, always dragging him around. Hopefully spring will be early this year...

Growing Up Before My Very Eyes

It seems like every time I turn around Sierra is getting older and wiser. She is becoming such a wonderful young lady right before my eyes. I have to pause and remember her right now because if I don't I'll blink again and she will be in high school..... She is starting junior high next year and I find myself asking where all the time went. So I decided to blog a little about her so that I can remember this time in her life.
Sierra is a social butterfly. She is fun to be around and makes every gathering big or small worth being at. She loves peace and tries to make sure everyone is content and happy.
She is the BEST big sister in the world. In fact, I joked the other day how she is her younger siblings "other mother". She doesn't need to be told to help one of them she just does it. It's second nature to her to be caring and loving to them. I really don't know what I would do without her constant help.
Because of her caring ways she has started to catch the attention of other mothers and lately can be found spending her weekend nights at other people's houses babysitting. She is so cute and takes a fun bag with her every time she goes.
She loves children and wants to be a teacher or nurse someday. There's no doubt in my mind that she will be be one one day and she'll be great at it.
Sierra is not shy around her friends at all, however, at school she barely mutters a single word. She is a great student and more than one teacher has told me that she will strategically place Sierrra beside problem students in hopes that she will rub off.
Sierra loves to bake and can make the biggest mess in the kitchen that you have ever seen! When she gets her groove on she likes to bake anything that we have all the ingredients for. But it's so fun to watch her and nobody complains when they are the recipients of her "creations".
Sierra loves to read and can read a thick book in a single day early in the day (guess all those readathon parties during the summer when she was little paid off...).
Sierra has a way of being a calming influence in the middle of a tense moment. She can get people to listen to reason like nobody I have ever seen. She has the ability to see all sides of situations.
Sierra is loves to sing and dance and have fun. She is not afraid of her style or who she is. She will wear things she likes whether anyone else thinks it looks good or not. Her teacher has told her multiple times that she would love to go shopping with Sierra and loves her clothes. She has a sense of style that is all her own but definitely very cute. (She definitely didn't get it from me or her dad and everyone in our family asks her for fashion advice.)
Sierra is a wonderful friend and will give anyone the shirt off her back. She makes mistakes like the rest of use but she feels truly bad when it happens and would never purposely hurt anyone.
I am grateful to be her mom and everyday I am amazed that even with all my flaws as a mother that Heavenly Father has given me such a wonderful daughter.
